Annual Veteran’s Breakfast, Saturday, 11/7 from 8-10:00 a.m. (check-in opens at 7:30 a.m.) This annual event is open to all veterans, male and female, sponsored by the Veteran’s Ministry and the Men of Iron Ministry.
All Veterans and their families we invite you to join us on Saturday, 11/7 for our annual Veteran’s Breakfast. This year’s theme, Ministering to Our Senior Military Veterans with Honor Flight, will be presented by guest speaker Joe Machado.
Joe Machado, a member of Violet, retired from the Army in 1988 as a Lieutenant Colonel with more than 23 years of active duty service. He was commissioned as an Army officer in 1964 and served in Vietnam, Germany and Korea; his last tours of duty were served at the White House under President Reagan and at the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC. After retiring from the Army, Joe worked as an information
security consultant for more than 17 years in Washington, DC. Joe is a graduate of Harvard University (AB 1960) and the New York Institute of Technology (MBA 1972). For the past six years, Joe has been a volunteer with Honor Flight Columbus and has escorted more than 50 World War II and Korean War veterans on visits to their Memorials in Washington, DC. He is also working with the Tribal Veterans Office to honor the living World War II veterans living on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Time: Registration opens @ 7:30 AM, Breakfast/Program @ 8:00-10 AM. Location: Violet Activity Center. Cost: $5 suggested donation at the door.
