WORSHIP | Our Purpose

We exist to help people to know God and respond to Him with their minds, emotions, bodies and choices. We do this because we were created for the purpose of worshiping God and because He loves it when we respond to Him as He deserves. The overflow of a God-centered life is worship of Him in every way, every day, in everything publicly and privately. Opportunities to be involved in the Worship Ministry include Worship Choir, community events, special events like Night of Worship and caroling at the City of Pickerington’s Holiday Village, Christmas Eve services, and much more.

Our instrumentalists provide the musical backing for our times of corporate praise. Because our worship is band-driven, we seek guitarists, bassists, percussionists, and keyboardists as well as secondary instruments such as violin or saxophone. This is an auditioned membership position for those in ninth grade or older.

We desire for our Worship Choir to be seen as a “wall of worship” that seeks to inspire the hearts of those in our church family toward praise. Those in our worship choir have a love of music and a passion to bring glory to Jesus. To be in our Worship Choir, you need to be in seventh grade or older and have accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.

At Violet, our technical arts team seeks to set the mood and backdrop for personal experiences of worship and response to God. You could be involved as an audio tech, live media tech, help out with our lighting, operate our video equipment, work with our video production team, or help our duplication team make CDs and DVDs of services. This area of ministry continues to expand, and we need people who have a love for technology to facilitate the worship of our church family.

We have a great team of greeters and hosts who help people feel welcome from the moment they enter our building. Our usher ministry continues this effort within the worship center. Ushers minister to people by making them feel welcome, helping them to find a seat, and facilitating the collection of the offering. We welcome men or women to serve as ushers. Because our ushers help with the collection of our offering, we require our ushers to be church members.
