Upward® Basketball and Cheerleading
Upward is a national children’s sports program, designed to give children and their families a positive sports experience by partnering with local churches to introduce children to Jesus Christ by creating opportunities to serve through sports. Upward Basketball & Cheerleading an evangelistic sports ministry designed to promote community outreach, develop volunteer leadership, and share the love of Christ with children and their families, using something as simple and enjoyable as a basketball. The primary focus of Upward is to develop the Winner in EVERY child, not just a few. By keeping this goal in mind, we are able to build a league that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in all who participate. Upward is different from any other league in our community. In Upward Basketball & Cheerleading, the message of Jesus Christ is #1. Playing basketball and cheering is just a fun way to share God’s word with our neighbors and their kids. Registration begins in early October. Practices begin in early December. Upward season runs January through February and ends with a special Awards Night honoring each player and cheerleader.
