Welcome to Violet Baptist Church

ACTS29_Overview2

Hear thoughts from Pastor Rick Williams as we head into this new series The acronym YOLO has become popular in today’s culture. It stands for “You Only Live Once” and has been used as a life motto, in catchy song lyrics, and graffitied on walls. While it’s often used with the idea of recklessly throwing caution to the wind, it is partially true. It is true that we do only live once. We each only get one shot at our life, our time on earth, our story. However, the motto falls short in that our lives aren’t by chance or meant to be centered on reckless abandon. Life’s circumstances, difficult chapters and brokenness make it easy for us to have tunnel vision on our own story and often leave us feeling like we want to throw in the towel. The truth is our existence in this particular place, at this particular time, is part of a much bigger story. We play a part, a unique part, in the greatest story ever told. Find meaning. Find hope. Find peace. Find purpose, your purpose in the story. Come, explore how to make the rest of your part of the story the best chapters yet. We are offering LifeClasses and LifeGroups that will empower, equip and encourage you.  Come on in… Sundays at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Bring the whole family. Register for the following classes :

VBC Children Outreach Program

Upward® Basketball and Cheerleading

Upward is a national children’s sports program, designed to give children and their families a positive sports experience by partnering with local churches to introduce children to Jesus Christ by creating opportunities to serve through sports. Upward Basketball & Cheerleading an evangelistic sports ministry designed to promote community outreach, develop volunteer leadership, and share the love of Christ with children and their families, using something as simple and enjoyable as a basketball. The primary focus of Upward is to develop the Winner in EVERY child, not just a few. By keeping this goal in mind, we are able to build a league that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in all who participate. Upward is different from any other league in our community.  In Upward Basketball & Cheerleading, the message of Jesus Christ is #1. Playing basketball and cheering is just a fun way to share God’s word with our neighbors and their kids. Registration begins in early October. Practices begin in early December. Upward season runs January through February and ends with a special Awards Night honoring each player and cheerleader. REGISTER MY CHILD
